Wrote another poem yesterday:
Dancing With My King
You extend Your hand to me
"May I have this dance?"
I hardly know what to say
You, the King of the universe
Wish to dance with me?
I see the love in Your eyes
And it puts me at ease
You take my hand
And lead me onto the dance floor
There, You sweep me up into a glorious dance
On and on it goes, growing ever more wonderful
This is how it will be
Dancing with my King
Across the heavens
For eternity

I wrote this poem Friday night during an all-night prayer strike:
Deep is calling out to deep
The depths of my heart calling out to Yours
"Come, Lord!"
I want to know and experience the depths of Your love
Like never before
I want to be completely immersed in Your extravagant love
Come and overwhelm me
Blow me away
I won't be satisfied with a glimpse or a taste
I want all of You
I can never be satisfied with anything or anyone else
Come, Lord
Come and satisfy this deepest longing of my heart

Here's my two latest poems:
“Lead Me (Desert)”

Lead me into the desert
And strip everything away
Until there’s nothing left
Just me and my empty soul
This empty soul that desperately thirsts for You
And cannot live without You
Come and speak to me here
Come and woo my wayward heart
Draw me back to You
Back where I belong
Where my weary spirit can rest
There I am restored
There I am free
There I am home

“Romanced”

Lord, I want to be romanced
Sweep me off my feet
Knock me flat
Do something that blows my mind
And makes me fall in love all over again
I don’t want to ever lose that first love
Don’t let me drift away
Wrap me in Your arms
Hold me tight
Whisper words of love in my ear
Let me rest my head on Your chest
And hear Your heart beat
Beating with love for me
This is what I want most
To be able to look into Your eyes
And see all the love You have for me
Pure, extravagant, passionate, fiery love
A love that nothing and no one can ever take away
That is what my heart craves
I know You delight in me
Show me again how much

Lovely. Such a great prayer. :)

Here's one I wrote for my Creative Writing class; I'll post the others after I tweak them.

Poetry in the Kitchen
I am the ant
crawling on the leaf
of the geranium on your windowsill.

I am the white swirls
in your hot chocolate.

I am the concentric rings
in the knot of this board
in your kitchen table.

I am the smudged fingerprints
in the artwork on your
refrigerator door.

I am even the lumpy
texture of your oatmeal.

I am the warm smell of breakfast
pervading your kitchen.

A little drawing I did a few weeks ago while working on an assignment for Creative Writing:

All right, as promised, here are some more of my poems. Enjoy! :)

The Executioner

It’s been three days now
and still
his face pursues me
throughout the day
and appears in my dreams.

Especially his eyes;
I will never forget them.
Eyes full of pain, yes,
I have yet to see a prisoner come to the Skull
without some sort of pain
lurking somewhere in his body.
But beyond the agony there was also
compassion, tenderness, and –
this was truly unexpected –
love.

My astonishment turned to pure bewilderment
when I read the charge.
For the first time I saw a man condemned
not for anything he’d done
but for who he was.
Still, it’s not my job to ask questions.

I hammered the nails
as I’d done a hundred times before
and stood guard as his strength
slowly ebbed away.
His last words still echo in my ears.
What did he mean?

Here come the soldiers
assigned to guard his tomb;
they look like they’ve just seen a ghost.
“Sir,” they gasp, “you’ll never believe
what just happened…”

Poor R

Poor R
People can’t seem to agree
on how to pronounce it.

Spanish and Italian speakers
roll it off the tips of their tongues
like a machine gun.

The French make it rumble
at the back of their throats
as if someone had said,
“Start your engines!”

And then the English
very slightly purse their lips
and let it come out
sometimes as an eruption,
others like a ripple.

Really, now.
Isn’t that rather ridiculous?

Poor R.
Go talk to U;
she’s got the same problem.

Here's a chorus I wrote:
Marvelous Lord God Almighty,
you alone, are worthy of all praise.
Lord, because of You, now I see
a meaning to all my days.
